TW: Practice Film Shoot

I conducted a practice film shoot in my kitchen, the location of one of the first scenes of our video in order to make sure the shots we have planned and added to our animatic are realistic and can actually be achieved. The practice went well, showing that all the distances and positions we had storyboarded for this scene will be achievable. I also practiced filming some shots as although there were none of the cast present, it gives a representation to what some of the shots may look like, allowing us to make any changes with shots we may not be happy with in terms of framing.

Below are some screenshots from the exercise:
This is a screenshot from a shot in which the remaining brother will be seated in the foreground, whilst his father, looking angered and upset sits in the background. As you can see the positioning and framing of this shot is of a quality standard proving that we can incorporate the shot in our video.
I then experimented with shot distances of having a bottle to signify the fathers drinking problem with the son looking upset and engaging in an argument with his father, seated in the background. Again I believe the shot looked of quality and shows that I could also use a pull focus shot to take the focus from the bottle onto the protagonist, emphasizing his pain.

The second shot shows purely the same thing but just with a slightly altered distance, a choice will be made on which distance looks more effective before shooting.
This is another shot we are planning to use in the video, this shot will be a slow tracking shot past the seat on which the protagonist will sit when arriving in the kitchen. The shot again looked effective so will be incorporated in the video, perhaps with some differing angles to make sure we have exactly what we need to progress.
This is a video example of one of the shots we will incorporate, the actual tracking shot will not be shaky or have objects on the kitchen top that make the framing of the shot less effective. It will also feature the main character of the video one side of the island and the father the other side engaging in an argument. Doing this showed me that I will be able to get both characters in frame and show clearly what is going on, from a distance similar to this.
