This is the first shot in the video and immediately depicts a voyeuristic theme. The tracking shot follows a woman concentrating solely on her torso/breasts. This is conventional of many contemporary music videos and is evidence of lightly exploiting the female body.
This is the most popular shot throughout the entire video. The use of costumes and props sets a very retro styled theme; which works well with the retro style of music. The most prevalent representation is African-Americans.
This shot is intriguing. It is essentially the same shot as before but slowly becomes very distorted. Again, this shot works in tandem with the music. The star (Bruno Mars) is also shown at the front singing, making this a music video based around performance.
This shot works well when looking at Dyer's paradox's of presence and absence. The man in the black coat walks passed as though oblivious to the singing dancers in the background.
This still emphasises the iconography within this video. The jewellery and other expensive clothing, hats, blazers and sun glasses construct an image of New York in the 1980s.
