So far this week, I have been breaking down our songs lyrics to find out the exact timings of each of the lyrics in the song as well as positioning numbers where each new shot will be incorporated, this is helpful as it decides how long each shot in our video will be as well as where they will be, making it useful for the animatic we are making as well as the accuracy of this animatic. An example of the first chorus of the song is shown below:
1 My nights are broken up by
the 2 sounds of women I'll never meet 8 seconds
3 3 seconds
4 And when my eyes are closed
I can start to 5
feel you staring at me 6
seconds
6 4 seconds
7 The right side of my bed
has always left me feeling stuck in between 6 seconds
8 Oh, 9 Oh, 10 Oh, 11 Oh 4
seconds
12 Everything I know and all
the 13 lies I tell myself so I can sleep 8 seconds
14 4 seconds
The red letters represent the change of shot and the blue represents the length of the lyric and length of time between lyrics.
I have also been storyboarding in order to complete the animatic, these storyboards will also show the length of each shot drawn and what type of shot it will be. After the storyboards are finished I will take pictures of all of them and form an animatic on Adobe Premiere Elements 9 and edit it in time with the track, a couple of examples are shown below:
